A local services provider required a low cost solution to manage their staffing needs across 6 Adventure Playgrounds with the flexibility to track staff seconded to any of the sites. An Excel spreadsheet was developed enabling site managers to schedule rota’s and track hours worked at an individual level with minimum administration. Data constraints, lookups, cell locking and conditionally formatted cell highlighting ensuring an easy user experience with a high level of data quality. Complex formula ensures start/end times entered in the rota automatically calculates hours worked/remaining for the year along with annual leave and other absences. This was followed up with a training and mentoring program to upskill in-house staff to take full ownership of the Rota document and equip them with the skills to build their own Excel solutions in the future.
